A little while back Mitsuda-san composed the soundtrack to a Japanese soccer "RPG" called "Inazuma Eleven". Of course, with Mitsuda's name in the credits my ears perked right up and I have been anxiously awaiting a release of the soundtrack. Months and months passed and there wasn't a word of an OST release...until NOW! I was just browsing, looking for any new tidbits of Mitsuda-related info (specifically I was looking for a release date for the "World Destruction" OST, which has yet to be announced) and found two sites that are allowing pre-orders for the "Inazuma Eleven" OST (hopefully VGMWorld will carry it, but since this OST is not being released by Sleigh Bells I'm not sure if they will). From the catalog number it looks like it's going to be a 2-disc soundtrack.

So we have the "Inazuma Eleven" OST to look forward to, the "World Destruction" OST should be released sometime in the next couple of months since the game came out yesterday (9/25/08) in Japan, and the upcoming Wii RPG "Arc Rise Fantasia" is on the horizon so we can expect yet another Mitsuda OST (hopefully) this year!!

If anyone has any other info on any of these soundtracks, please make a thread or add to this one :)

soccer + RPG = does not compute

Still, 3 new OSTs to look forward to is great news.

"soccer + RPG = does not compute"

Yeah, I'm a little unsure of that one too. I watched a couple of videos on Youtube of the gameplay and it basically looks like there's a "town" that you can buy items, etc. in and then you play soccer matches. It actually looks pretty fun and the few pieces of music I heard in the video were good. I'm looking forward to the OST (as I am with any new Mitsuda music).

On another note: I was able to get a hold of the 5 tracks from the "World Destruction Premium Soundtrack" that was released with the game on 9/25/08*. Great, great stuff! I think we have something really special to look forward to when the full OST is released. I'm guessing it will come out sometime in late November. If I remember correctly, "Soma Bringer" OST game out about 2 months after the release of the game in Japan.

* note: I purchase EVERY soundtrack that I have the music for...but for special releases (in this case the Premium Soundtrack was released solely with preorders made for the game in Japan) that aren't for retail sale I hunt down the MP3s for without any reservation. How else are we supposed to hear these tracks, you know?

Stella Deus Rearranged Album was also so called a special release, but Kahori still sold it here. :)

I realize that Kahori specializes in rare/hard-to-find OSTs like the ones that aren't sold retail or are out-of-print. I have personally bought the first printings of both the Xenogears OST and the Chrono Cross OST from VGMWorld. I just mean to say that these "available by preordering the game only" albums will never be sold RETAIL, so I don't mind, or see the harm in, downloading the tracks if you discover them somewhere. Again, this is the only case when I download songs of any sort without paying for them. I have quite a huge VGM CD collection to prove it :D !!!

There isn't any harm, really. We'll have the tracks anyway when we buy the official OST. ;)

I've bought of CDs from Cocoebiz, unfortunately I have not much money left, so the newer CDs... I haven't heard them. I will probably download the songs, although at the end I end up supporting the artist, and buying their albums, although I must adimit Yasunori Mitsuda's CDs are the only CD meritable of purchase(and perhaps Youko Kano's)
