Why isn't there a section for him? He's pretty much the king of VGM...

Just moved it.
I think the reason there isn't a specific section devoted to Mr. Uematsu like the other composers, is that he is simply not a client of CocoeBiz at the moment. Just a guess really. Anyway, did you hear/like the Blue Dragon Soundtrack? I loved it! I have heard some say it was really bad, not me! I listen to it often. I am always looking forward to whatever Mr. Uematsu does in the future.

Yeah I've heard some of the music, I played the game at a friends house, but that's all I've gotten to hear. I really want to eventually get the soundtrack though. I'm a big fan of Nobuo Uematsu, I own most of the Final Fantasy soundtracks. From what I heard at my friend'ss house, it's not Uematsu's best (my opinion), but it is definitely good. I think someone would start to run out of ideas after 20-30 or so years of composing. But Uematsu is pure genius, and is always going to be. It's sad that he's not more famous..

Many of history's greatest composers that lived long enough indeed wrote some of their most famous works later in life.
As for more famous? Considering he's probably the second most famous video game composer ever, it's hard to parse that comment.

Do you mean Koji Kondo as the most famous?
....
Actually Uematsu isn't too famous, his music for Final Fantasy is, but not him. Most people just know it as "Final Fantasy Music".

Just looks at the results on the bottom.
What I meant by more famous was like as famous as John Williams, he deserves it. His music is so underrated, I know of many people who are huge fans of FF music but never even heard of Nobuo Uematsu. I think it's so underrated because it's not considered "cool" to like VG music.

Strange, isn't? Nobuo Uematsu's name is usually on the front of his albums: "Arranged, Composed, and Produced by Nobuo Uematsu."
My first instinct, when I hear some music, is to find out the artist who composed it; if people like his music that much, they ought to pay attention to the opening credits and look for the composer's name...

To be honest I think the main reason is because lots of people pirate his music, I've seen way too many illegal download sites, all of them say "Final Fantasy music" and not "Nobuo Uematsu", I'm pretty sure that most of his fans have never bought an album of his, it's tragic. I say support him! The problem is, it's not just Uematsu whose suffering from this, most of these other vg composers are probably experiencing the same. I'm sure that they are aware. :(
We need some kind of campaign or something to take down all these sites.

Ehh, I like to be able to download and listen to the music in its entirety before I finally make a decision to buy. Import albums aren't cheap, you know? If I can avoid spending money on something I'm not going to potentially like, and save it on something that I am going to potentially like, well, I think you know where I'm going with this. There's only so much money to go around!
My parents think the prices of import albums are just ridiculous, and every time I get an order in, I hear them complaining about it. Me, as long as the music's good, I'll pay for it, no matter the price...given I can afford it in the first place.
For that matter, I've still yet to pickup *official* copies of the soundtracks; the first copies I got of them ended up being bootleg copies. How was I supposed to know?? They were the first CDs I ever got, and I didn't know how much they were supposed to cost! Of course, these days, I'd be suspicious of an import soundtrack set which was offered at the price of about $5 per disc, especially straight from the retailer, but I'm surprised with how cheaply you can get legitimate stuff second-hand.
Well it is true that they are unreasonably expensive, but that's what sites like this is for. Even though I myself haven't bought an album, I rip music from games, which is completely legal, but I still would want to support the composers, especially Uematsu, he deserves to be more famous.

Nonono, I'm saying, it's good to have the opportunity to download it FIRST, so you can SAMPLE it, and decide whether you LIKE it BEFORE you BUY it.
Not to download to avoid paying even IF you do like it. Because, like you said, it's a good idea to buy it IF you LIKE it.

Mr. Uematsu has two reported upcoming appearances (thus far) outside of Japan. He will be involved in Final Fantasy's 20th Anniversary Concert tour, entitled "Distant Worlds: Music From Final Fantasy". It begins on December 4th in Stockholm, Sweden, and then continues next year with a stop in Chicago in the US on March 1st.
A new CD is also reported to be on sale for the event. You can veiw all the up to date information on Distant Worlds here:

Ticket prices are reasonable, but if you would like to meet Mr. Uematsu, you'll have to pay at least $150.00 USD.
I purchased a seat for the Chicago event, as following game concert tours has sort of become a special thing for me over the years since 2004.
Has everybody seen the new trailer for Lost Odyssey? The main theme is AMAZING. Especially at 1:40.

It really does look amazing. I got to hear some music at a concert. I hope it does well. I would love to check it out when it hits.
Any news on Cry On?
I'm curious to hear anything from it, because from what I know so far it sounds interesting. A game that's supposed to make you cry every hour..
