Hopefully some of you have checked out this fantastic soundtrack. It is a fine return to form for Sakimoto. There are more quality tracks on this soundtrack then on the entire FF XII soundtrack. Check out one track "The
Fate you have Accepted" at Yahoo video games below, it's quite moving. This isn't a bootleg link or anything, it's an offical song released by Atlus:

I'm actually holding off listening to the game rip till (if) there's a soundtrack release. I listened to a few tracks and found them generally excellent.

the first 4-5 tracks are great, there is some classic emotionally charged Sakimoto in there.

Love the game so far, and I look forward to really getting into it now that I have more time.

The boss battle track is awesome. It's extremely dark and brutal...

I just bought a soundtrack and was incredibly surprised to know how much I was wrong... As much as I've not been motivated to hear the rip and make a lot of speculation on each composer's responsibility, Abe and Kaneda excel in imitating Sakimoto far more than I thought (it's a pure compliment, not a sarcasm). Iwata also surprises me a bit... I completely believed both witch's forest themes were by Sakimoto... Neither of fairy's country theme is mistakable and I was correct in them, though (my guess also Abe and Namiki).

Odin Sphere really makes me ashamed of my ears, and of having suspected everything unremarkable were wholly ascribable to anybody but Sakimoto. Yes, Sakimoto is the worst contributor on this album, as far as I'm concerned. Abe really shows a potential despite his too barefaced likeness to Sakimoto, and Kaneda grows better on each work.

It's not Basiscape's collaboration that prevented this album from being better by any mean ... it's Sakimoto and Iwata. Maybe he had to supervise this project in a different way. At this moment, I think a Basiscape collaboration project has a much more chance of being a consistent score than any Sakimoto or Iwata solo work, although some people, such as me, would badmouth them co-working. Abe and Kaneda certainly saved this score.

Hehe, I usually don't listen to Sakimoto's tracks when I was listening to the gamerip of this game.

Maybe the tracklist can show how much I was right... I am still certain for that. But I still haven't got the soundtrack cos I nearly ran out of money now :D Also I like Abe's effort in Deltora Quest too. The Basiscape members surely don't just imitate Sakimoto, they have their own style which is quite distinguishable in my point of view.

AND I like them :D

I respectfully disagree with this...
I listened to the Odin Sphere gamerip and I thought it was alright... nothing earth shattering, and not bad either.
However, I also listened to the ASH gamerip (Sakimoto + Iwata) and I think it is up there with the classic efforts of these composers, and way better than Odin Sphere... I can only imagine the OST (full sound versions) is even better.
Opoona, I think, is also very promising... it got high praise for the music from Famitsu... and I think this might be totally solo Sakimoto because the style seems so different from the usual (it seems mostly electronic, much like the music he did for the arte piazza site)... but maybe not since some of the Basiscape composers have also done non orchestral/"epic" music.. we'll see.

By the way, I still think the artepiazza music is so cool... :D

I would like to hear this more in games.

EDIT: I have now heard the Odin Sphere OST and, despite my initial dislike of the gamerip, I have to say that all the composers did a great job.
As you said Kaneda, and Abe are responsible for some of the best tracks, but I think Sakimoto and Iwata also did great jobs.
All in all, it's a great team effort.

The Opoona soundtrack does sound promising, judging by the trailer. So far Archaic Sealed Heat sounds okay, but nothing really powerful has grabbed me yet. Odin Sphere, on the other hand, has some very powerful/haunting tracks that resemble stuff from (dare I say it) Vagrant Story at times. Give it a few listens, you'll find it probably his best recent work.

"Arise from your grave!"

Pardon my Altered beast reference as I resurrect a dead thread...

I know its a little late for me to be commenting, but I just started playing this game few days ago and I absolutely love it.

The gameplay is a little too easy but The unique art style, the colors, the story, and most importantly the music = awesome!! I am playing it on a 42" HD television with surround sound.. its perfect.

The music fits the children's storybook theme so well!!

and I agree wholeheartedly with Ovelia about the boss music. It has just the power and brutality that I expected from Mr Sakimoto's boss tracks.

Then seconds later he still has a whimsical delicate happy sound...

I guess I just wanted to jump online to let others know how great this is.

I dont have the soundtrack yet but I am enjoying what I am hearing thus far..
