Hey all! This is the surprise I was talking about. ;)

I conducted an interview with Mr. Sakimoto (and Mr. Iwata) for his CocoeBiz English webpage. The interview has 5 questions, but I feel that he gave impressive responses to all of them. The interview can be found here (http://cocoebiz.com/sakimoto/interviews/interview06.shtml). Please enjoy it! :)

I want to give a big special thanks to Kago for translating these contents. He really helped me here, and has been a good friend of mine for a while. Also, special thanks to Kahori Ezaki for getting in contact with Mr. Sakimoto and Mr. Iwata (and for her great English webpages of composers). Last but not least, Mr. Hitoshi Sakimoto for answering so purely and intellectually. :)

See, I took 'surprise' to be something truly shocking, like Sakimoto leaving the music scene to run for Japan's Upper House or something. But still, it's nice to read a little progress report every now and then.

You are certainly hard to please.

Its always good to hear that Sakimoto is doing well. I really wish that he was coming to the Chicago premiere of PLAY.

Bleh, he's too good for PLAY... and so is Mitsuda for that matter.

And datschge, I wish I could get into your head and figure out exactly what the process is that goes on when you read something I say and totally miss the fact that I'm in jest.

He's going to Detroit. :p

...A joke, again? :D

I would like to think Yuzo Koshiro, Jeremy Soule, Nobuo Uematsu and Koji Kondo are pretty good company. Anyways, Mitsuda is definitely going to be at the premiere in Chicago. (which I leave for tomorrow)

He's going to Detroit. :p

Apparently, Sakimoto has never been to or heard of Detroit. heh. I guarantee he gets there and goes "Uh...yea. Worst city eva". In fact, I think I think I'll make a phone call and save him the trouble. I expect I'll catch him in Chicago on the 27th. :p

Nah, quite serious. But that's just me.

We decided to adopt an external orchestrator for a reason of time. Mr. Matsuo is my old friend, so we can understand each other easily, and what is more, he is the best orchestrator I know. I haven't thought of other choices.

Yes, I like Matsuo's orchestration more than Hamaguchi's.
