While waiting for FF12 OST, take some time to listen to his PSP project along with REZON, Mitsuda, Yoko, etc.

the most right side of the menu is sound section and provides some 30" music samples. Sakimoto in charge of the opening theme arrangement. You can listen to the full version in the trailer

The samples look very promising (particularly both of Mitsuda's, Shimomura's and Sakimoto's), and I admit that it was odd to see Hosoe compose the main theme with Sakimoto arranging it. It's just too bad that the soundtrack release is only going to be given with preorders of the game :( I would've been very interested to pick it up.

Nice find Thomash. That's a killer arrangement of Sakimoto's, and his original track is liquid and inviting; Hosoe's intriguing and mesmeric; Iwata's rather trite and dissapointing; Mitsuda's pleasant and expectedly excellent; Saso's underwhelming compared to her usual stellar work; Shimomura's blindly groping and clumsy; and Ito's musically dead from the first note (hasn't he had more than enough time to come up with a new style since his early SaGa work?).

Who are the 7th, 8th, and 10th composers? I don't quite recognize the kanji...#7's tracks are quite unremarkable, but #8 and #10's tracks are pretty cool.

Though once again, this nonsense about albums only getting packaged with the game...ridiculous. Don't these companies understand that games are for playing and soundtracks for listening?

Tsukasa Masuko, Yasuyuki Suzuki and Takahiro Ogata :)

Tsukasa Masuko used to be the composer of Megami Tensei series until Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, he(she?) was "overthrown" by Shoji Meguro completely. Tsukasa Masuko owns some fans from Megami Tensei early installments. But he seems to share the same problem with Nobuo that does not work hard on (or insists not?) upgrading their synth table on neo game platform.

I still can't imagine that Cozy Okada can gather that much musicians in this project. It sounds like this game is being backup by Sony directly for boosting PSP sale...

Thanks Fatigue!

I can't believe Masuko's tracks though. I guess the first sample sounds like his Megami work (which I generally enjoyed, if none of it blew me away), but that second sample...bleh.

And indeed, quite the high profile roster of musicians...I can't really imagine putting so much money into the sound department for a handheld game of all things, heh. But hey, I'm cool with it--the more the composers I like get hired, the happier I am! ;)

Wow...with a roster like that, I expect the greatest soundtrack ever. I have a feeling I will be disappointed.

I'm beginning to love Meguro's work after playing DDS1/2...His rock/techno battle tracks are not only interesting but also very original.
