Hi there. I've been playing Tenchu and Nippon Ichi RPGs on the PS2 lately and I'm getting bored. I want to play a game that's really easy to get into - a pick up and play one like Crazy Taxi or Dead or Alive 2. Can anyone suggest some fun pick up and play games?

It would be especially great if they're 2 players (even better if co-op) cos my lil sis loves playing 2player games with me.

Are there any of those side scroll shooters? Or an easy but fun arcade racer or one of those wacky Japanese puzzle games?

BTW, i'm in the UK, so if you know a game that's not released in the UK then please don't mention lol.

Thanks.

I'm sure you've already played it, but I'm a big fan of Katamari Damacy... it's a fun one.

I don't know about the release in the UK... but it's just my recommendation. :)

For two players, try out Mario Kart: Double Dash on NGC. There is a cool co-op mode where one person steers while the other person administers power slides. It's surprisingly fun, especially considering how dull the single player mode is.

Some of the 2 player "Metal Slug" games are pretty fun side scrolling shooters with fun technoish metal-sounding music..

Lately I have been wasting lots of time with Capcoms "Devil Kings." it has Great cutscenes, constant Action, leveling up, new items, unlockables, cool characters, and thats about it. Not much thinking involved but entertaining (to me at least) I hope I get tired of it soon (=

if it were two players it would be perfect.

Starwars battlefront 2 is good 2 player entertainment.. but my little sister hates it lol.

Actually, XLord has it right there.. 2 player Mario cart. it is very very fun.

I know that 'We Love Katamari' is about to be released in the UK soon. Never played it but I really wanna hear the OST (i've heard it's fab).

I did have Double Dash but I haven't got a GC anymore (which I regret - I miss 4 player Smash Bros. Melee.

I've been thinking of the Metal Slug game too.

So far, I bought a £5 game called Psyrarian. It's a 2D space shooter like space invaders. It's simple, but it's really fun - especially for £5 new. I don't know how long it'll last though. It's alot like Ikarugi.

So I was thinking of Gradius 5 or Metal Slug as my next game. Or I'm thinking of getting an Xbox360, but something is pulling me away from it...

BTW Gemeines, I still can't get your email address for the thing we discussed before.

Don't get a Xbox360. -_- unless you have a HD screen. anyway, there's no easy pick-up-'n-play on it yet. anyway, no good ones in my opinion (getting the xbox360 especially for another stupid racing clone ? come on..)

Get Metal Slug, Gradius V, both Katamari games on ps2 (they should all be cheap by now). Even my girlfriend can enjoy them.

you can't get the first Katamari game in the UK :(

I didn't get the 360 though (although I count DoA4 as a PuaP game). I think I'll wait a while. I'm getting a little sick of this ancient PS2 though. God damn it, why are Nintendo taking so long with the Revolution?! I want that new Smash Bros. game NOW!!!!

You CAN'T??? Want me to MAIL one to you?? That's riddiculous. ugh... It's a good thing you opted NOT to buy the 360, I wasn't too impressed honestly. I think once more games come out and a wider variety is available, things will be different. And by that time, the price will have dropped too! So it's a win-win situation really. :)

yeah, but I love dead or alive. I wasn't allowed it when I had a partner.

As for the Damacy game, there was alot of stick from Game magazines because the original was never released. come to think of it, has anyone got the album? I'd really like to hear a few tracks as I've heard the soundtrack to the first is amazing?

That's a good question. I've heard the supposed OST for the first game, but I didn't recognize ANY of the songs. It's like they released an album insinuating a reference to the game, but then just made all new songs...

So does anyone know what the REAL OST for the game is called?? Or where to find it? That opening song is awesome. :) I want it!

well I recognized most of the songs. My favorite track, LONELY ROLLING STAR, is really there. it's the first or second mission song in the first katamari game.

I could direct you which song from which mission, but I would need to get my game back. Now that my friend has a ps2, I lent him a lot of games. including this masterpiece.

If you could tell me the name of the OST (or give us a link if it's being sold on this site) I'd be really thankfull :)

Name of the first game OST: Katamari Fortissimo Damashii

There is only 3 Katamari OST in total. Unfortunately, none is available on vgmworld. Should be a good request though.

ABout each OST individually: one is for the first game, one for the second game and the last one is supposedly instrumental BGM from both games plus some music from the upcoming PSP Katamari game. I say "some" cause since it's not released yet, I can't say if it's complete or not. Anyway I don't have that album. I can't tell you anything else about it until I get my hands on it.

I'll get that Gradius V soon. But I'm currently enjoying the old skool 'Parodius' on the PSX. That game rocks. I have the ultra rare ost for it too ^^

Been a while since I did this post but I thought I'd just say I got Gradius V a couple of months ago, and you are quite right, this is one of the most addictive games I've played in years. I've spent the past 2-3 months trying to complete it (and now I have).

I've just ordered neo Contra for £6.50 new including P+P (which looks real good 2player old skool) and I was thinking about a Metal Slug game. However, I've heard that Metal Slug 3 is really easy to complete. Can anyone tell me which metal Slug is the hardest to complete and/ or great 2 players?

Thanks guys.

I can't answer your question, but if you're interested in Metal Slug, you might just want to wait for the upcoming Metal Slug Collection for PSP since it has six MS games on one UMD.
