I remembered that there was the FF orchestrated tour that happened a while ago, and i was looking into which songs were performed. Why were there no songs form FF Tactics? Sakimoto's songs from it are leagues beyond any other FF soundtrack in my opinion..

Maybe because the whole focus was aimed on the mainstream music of Final Fantasy (aka Uematsu)?

what ever the reason was it was a poor decision to not include at least a few of Sakimoto's brilliant compositions from FFT..

Don't forget, Iwata also worked on the Soundtrack, producing just as many good hits ;)

Square Enix has their reasons why they didn't include his compositions. My main and most obvious guess would be that there were no particular themes on Final Fantasy Tactics that reached that phenomenal success that tracks like "Liberi Fatali" or "One Winged Angel" showed.

maybe so, though I can think of many tracks on FFT that own Liberi Fatali and One Winged Angel.

I would agree, but the main series has always been way more popular amongst fans. I can't find many, if any, tracks on the Final Fantasy Tactics Original Soundtrack that has the same amount of fan base as, say, "One Winged Angel" or Final Fantasy VII Original Soundtrack.

I always thought "Battle on the Bridge" or "Character Introductions" should have been considered FF classics.

^^^You have to remember that Final Fantasy Tactics is a very difficult game and certainly not a game for the casual player. The fact that Final Fantasy Tactics is a difficult strategic game means that its automatically a turn off to the average gamer and as a result, many of the tracks in Final Fantasy Tactics that are absolutely brilliant, retain their glory principally in the minds of the few that are able to witness its greatness. I wish this weren't the case but popularity doesn't always equal the best case scenario.

Welcome, btw. :)
