There used to be a fantastic composer by the name of Motoaki Takenouchi...who composed a series of excellent soundtracks for the Shining Force series. Then, very suddenly he seemed to have fallen off the face of the planet. Just wondering if any of the folks at CoCo-ebiz might know of his whereabouts these days.

It's always sad when composers disappear without any warning, like Yonemitsu did after Ys IV (and pretty much every person who ever worked at Falcom in the past -- besides, of course, Koshiro ;_; ). I tried to dig up some info on Motoaki Takenouchi, and I believe he hasn't done anything since the Sega Saturn :(

It is sad...nay, its a tragedy. A lot of old school composers are too damn good to simply forget! Its not fair that they slip into the mists of the forgotten. (sob,sob)

But seriously...its depressing to think about. Especially considering that some of these composers have abundance of talent to be exceedingly fruitful/successful in the present.

Yeah, Takenouchi's SF2 score was excellent. And so was Masahiko Yoshimura's for the first Shining Force. Those two were the best of the series.
