Hey guys..
As I guess most of you has understood is that Im trying to get into the VGM business.
Im working very hard for that goal as one of my "mains"
I have focused intencely on reaching this, it is very hard, but Im always approaching..
I have made quite a few compositions that have been well accepted and replied here..
This time I have made a composition for the professional video made for the game "Magna Carta" (a intro CGI video of Final Fantasy Quality) that was released some months ago or so.
I will not make more of these as I don't want to make music for already released projects, I believe this video may be my ticket into the business, so I would LOVE to get replies on this one as this is a very important piece to me.
The More reply I get, I guess the better it is, if I get less replies I guess I didn't reach the audience as wanted ;)
Hope you enjoy it.. it takes awhile to download, but Its well worth the time waiting for it!..

Hi Lunarheart. I don't think its bad at all. That is, the musical ideas are not too shabby. (I actually hear some Sakimoto influence in there)
I believe that the expression could be played on a bit. That is, I believe there should be more dynamic changes. It appears to sound as if there is only one volume setting throughout the entire piece.
Still, very nice effort. :)

Hi, I'm afraid people wont know what Im trying to bring forth in this piece to the video, so I decided to write my approach to the scenes, also, I suggest that people who check this out, watch and listen two to three times before deciding conclusion. My experience with intro-videos for games are that they will grow by each listen, often things will collide with the mind after a pessimistic first-watch. It has happened to me many times, and some of those have become my favourites.
In the start its obvious that its just a scenery intro for the nice beautiful castle in the distance.
When the first melody enters by the beautiful grass plain with the woman enjoying life, the music recembles peace and harmony and enjoyment of nature.
Then the darkness side enters showing what the world has become, the danger , the unknown which we are introduced to as we watch, the slow movement of the
camera under the part where we see one of the main evil foes face telling us a hint of the mind of the evil.
Then we touch the love and harmony part which always continue to live on even in evil times, the hope.
Then a peak of darkness shows, here the music is not commersial so the first impression here might be considerable strange, its not a first watch natural flow which I don't want, I wanted a suprise, a unpredictable blast.
The main character enters in the same part as he is in the middle of it all, experiencing the spirit of the darkness, he walks slowly up to pick up his sword
in the midst of crisis as a sign of his courage, power and a calm stable mind.
When his face takes place in the screen, I made a small theme to draw a line between the main Character with one of the main foes in the game (a rival), so that the music is placed as a Guide-line to show opposition in a half gothic setting.
When the flaming sea flowers around one of the bad guys the tune walks into a whole new aspect of the piece, it takes us further and into a more upbuilding
set of scenes..
The midst of battle is very majestic.
The Armies are coming, the camera movement is slow and the soldiers come in the distant, I chose the slow and mystic approach here, which I wanted very much, and think fits perfectly, when they come closer the "camera" a intence piano lines extends the intencity in form of a powerful build up, and a blast suprise us, with the same "Evil" theme as used previously in the other blasting setting with the same Character shown on screen. (Notice all detailed Hit-spots in these scenes)
After the intence sword slash (notice how the music move with the camera) by the evil foe which is adjusted like most in this video by the timing of the
composition it stings into the first melody as used in the start showing Hope , peace and courage, as the beautiful scenery is past, the main character enters last domain with all his heroic might being very secure about his skills, the hits and slashes in this scene is very well adjusted to the rythm of the music, the percussion starts as he starts his attack for improved intencity and movement.
He face his last foe and gloriously win!
I have figured that alot of my mid section parts isn't easy to catch at once as I have taken very different approach to many of the scenes to make it a new experience, a different experience which in MY oppinion is classic.
Each scene can have many ways to approach , I decided my approach which for some is hard to grasp, so many watches will unveil the depth of it.(as in MANY other great CGI movies with great music out there)
Also when it comes to Volume Changes (Dynamics), I decided not to have more drastic Volume changes than I have, and I do have it in this piece, its not the same volume height all the way, I wanted to not take it to other levels to keep a stability and intencity in the already Broad dynamic of the tune.
Well, I wrote all details, many most will not notice at first, and the most important thing in a video like this isnt all the details but the overall, if it Catch your eye or not etc.
One of my most reliable sources that watched this, gave it a 7/10 after first watch, second time he was amazed, HOPEFULLY it has the same effect to the rest.
Noone like the same though, its just my hope!
This is how I made it.
I really hope people can understand what I bring forth here though :D
BTW..Isn't my English good to be a Norwegian? :P
Thanks for reading!
