Like what the topic says, Why do you like VGM. I like it because VGM artist like Mitsuda, Iwadare, Sakuraba, Ishiwatari, Sakimoto, Saso, Iwata, Hayama, Hosoe, Namiki, Ito and so many more are extremely diverse and enjoy doing what they love doing, creating VGM. Its inspiring. Keep up the good work guys and keep selling VGM, Kahori!

I can't really describe why, but I would say that composers make more effort in their music, which make them more enjoyable to listen rather than music on the radio. The melody aspect. No lyric.

I can totaly relate to that. Composers put in much more effort in their music than American / Australian music artists do. Its so breathtaking!

I'm pretty confident that I DON'T listen to VGM because it's VGM, but rather because, like you've both mentioned before, it has a lot more thought put into it. I also think some VGM stand out because of the sentimental value we have with it after playing it's accompanying game. I can wholeheartedly admit that I listen to almost EVERY style of music, but sadly not as much thought is put into the music of the pop-culture, as they know the people who listen to crap aren't listening to it for the melodies, but the "filthy" lyrics. I must say however there are quite a few pop songs that have caught my ear and are sitting happily with my VGM collection. I love singles for the occasional song that has GREAT instrumentation with a singer i hate :p.
