Hey guys.
Recently I made a tune for a Anime intro sequense (already out there of course)
Its just a project of my own to test my skills one last time before I start heading out to companies.
I used the "Tales Of Destiny 2" intro anime for the game
The music is made specifically to the movie piece, so everything would flow in a way that I personally want it to flow.. and I thought, if its any place I should post it to get reviews from people that is into this kinda stuff, it would be here right?
If I get serious jobs in the future and it might get released worldwide, its people like me and you that would want it or not.
I hope you like it!..
Hope I get some reviews!..
here it is:

Love It!
Although Id like to give you some feedback:
Although it is a great attempt at making music for the anime intro for ToD2 (music by Motoi Sakuraba and Shinji Tamura), I felt that the intro was too epic for the music you created. I will break the music into diffrent sections now:
Intro - Nice, I love an orchestral intro, but judging the intro sequence, your music was a tad quiet (considering how epic the intro was). But nice instruments chosen.
Middle - The darker side of the anime and your music. Personally, I loved the darker side of your music. It is very broading and gives of a sense of danger. Very good. But I still felt the "lighter parts" of the middle section should have at least had a little more going on in between (too quiet). It's pretty much the same problem I had with the intro section of your music.
End- Some more lighter music. Same problem as the intro part of your music (too quiet, too little going on). But the ending was great. But at the very end (when the title come up), The music should have had more of an "Epic" status. Great ending though!
That pretty much sums it up for me. Very good attempt.
I'd give it a B+
If you want to chat more about what I think, you can PM me.
I'd love to meet you if you become famous.

Hey Fatigue.
Thanks for stopping by man, glad you like it..
I've gotten very varied response on this one, I think, between interested artists, there will always be disagreements, both when it comes to mix and how things are built up, some think that the drums are too weak, some think that the battle scenes arent epic enough etc.. its very interesting.
I personally wanted the video to be built up as the story of a game, always the nice start with the flowing feelings of green plains, something magical is in the air, he leaves home, I want it to be a more Manly farewell with warm steady music, instead of the Common Cliche mega happy Main Character event standard.
As for the ending, with the background picture and the title of the game in my mind, I think it dont fit with the common Epic title introduce at that point, I wanted it to be more emotional..
Anyways, Im very grateful that you took some interest in Checking it out man!.. I might PM you in awhile, when I get better time..
Thanks again!

Hey man!
I watched the video a few more times today and I think it has grown on me quite a bit. I forget to mention that the piece sounds like a Mitsuda Opening piece (which is a good thing) which I like (listen to Chrono Cross' "Scars of Time", Legaia DuelSaga's "Fight!! Then Riot!!" and Xenogears "Light From The Netherworld"). I also like the quality of the timbre (Medium end MIDI, I presume?). You should definitly try and get into the VGM world as a composer or a Synthasizer Manipulator (these people are about as popular as the composer's themselves. With Synth Manipulator such as Ryo Yamazaki, Hidenori Iwasaki and Hirosato Noda, you can't go wrong :) )
Best of luck,
Fatigue

Hey,
I just listened to your piece. Very well done. I've never played Tales of Destiny 2 so I don't know how the original sounds, but your music fit the animation very well; it didn't seem out of place. The only thing I expected that I didn't hear was a truly "high, intense" part. I felt like it should be coming just around the corner but it never does. From 1:42 to 1:43 there is a quick "pause" or lull and bringing the music up to a higher level than it was from 1:36 to 1:42 would have been awesome. I think even just an additional string section playing a higher melody and/or some additional percussion parts at this point would really add a lot. That's not saying that the piece lacked emotion, everything that was there was gorgeous. Just speaking specifically about the animation-to-music relationship, an even more intense section would have helped (and I know you can do intensity: has everyone heard "Clash Into the Unknown"?).
Anyway, enough pointers...you are a much more accomplished composer than myself, but I know I always appreciate feedback. Keep up the good work, and always keep me posted on what's going on with your music career. By the way, I checked out your website and listened to the rest of your tunes. "City of Ice" is still my favorite, but there isn't a bad one on there.

Hey Fatigue thanks for your kind words once again!
and Thanks for your Wish of luck, same to you
Hey Skitch!
Sup man.. Thanks for your response.
Glad you like it
And about a more intence part, I personally dont think so, because this is an introduction of the dynamics of the game, and kind of forms how the games music Would have been based on if I were the main Composer which Im not, anyways, what I was about to say was, this is not something that "happens" there and then, and no point in the Video shows a too great threat, after the point of 1:43. the magicians of the game is introduced, so more flowing mystic music is what I think fit the best there, it shouldnt be more intence, by my personal oppinion, I think it would look way too extreme compared to the scenes showing..
And when the "battle" theme enters the second time, I have layed it down and up at the same time, its not as extreme as first time, but more controlled..
And like I said to Fatigue, "between interested artists, there will always be disagreements, both when it comes to mix and how things are built up"
Anyway man, glad you stopped by, I think you have interesting oppinions.:D
