We are very happy to announce that the upcoming RPG, Radiata Stories (from SquareEnix and Tri-Ace)'s music composer has been announced. One of the greatest music composers, Mr. Noriyuki Iwadare composed the music to this title, and this news is now available to the public! Also Mr. Motoi Sakuraba arranged the theme song to the game.

We have been waiting for his new work for a while, and we will now be able to listen to the "Iwadare-Sound" again, The Soundtrack CD will be released, and will be available for preorders here at CocoeBiz.com.

Has anyone had a chance to listen to either the Radiata Stories soundtrack or the arrange album?

If you've heard either of these albums, how well do they stack up to his past works, i.e. mostly in relative to his Grandia and Lunar scores (since those are the only works of his I've ever heard)?

How much has his style changed since then? Is he trying anything completely different in his new albums? I've heard his more recent works, like his Ingmar ~ For the Beginning and the two tracks he did for the Dark Chronicle Premium Arrange, and those sound like classic Iwadare.

I don't believe the game is ever going to come to the U.S., so we might not actually get a chance to hear the music in the context of the game...

Is there any place I can get music samples for the Radiata Stories albums? I'd really like to look into these albums in more detail; Mr. Iwadare was my first favorite video-game music composer ever, and his orchestrated scores took my breath away.

I've listened to the arranged album, and about half the tracks are vocal. The instrument style is still much like classic Iwadare. I think they follow the same general style as Grandia II. You should be fine.

I'm intentionally avoiding the OST, because most of the tracks are only 1 minute, 30 seconds. That is NOT classic Iwadare style. Almost none of his past albums have a majority of tracks this short.

I think Ingmar and his related gigs with the Ingmar band members has inspired him to do more vocals, since half of the arranged album consists of vocal tracks.

Cocoebiz's Radiata Stories OST product page has a few samples, but we cannot direct you to full length mp3s for copyright reasons.

The Radiata Stories OST product page is this page? (Link: http://www.cocoebiz.com/catalog.php?id=328)

I don't see any links for any mp3 samples, on either the original soundtrack or arrange album pages; were they removed?

I don't expect full samples, just samples that are 30 seconds long or so should tell me what I need to know.

There are 4 samples on the album info page of the publisher TEAM Entertainment, at http://www.team-e.co.jp/products_new/kdsd-00061-62/, and 3 more samples of the arranged album at http://www.team-e.co.jp/products_new/kdsd-00063/

I am mistaken. I must have been looking at another TEAM album. Doh.

Please email cocoebiz through the contact page and ask if mp3 samples can be made available. I cannot make that decision.

NONE of the four media players on my computer will play asx files (media player, dell jukebox, real one, or creative media). T_T

That's one solution...okay, thanks! I'll do that!

.asx is Windows Media Player. This is different from "Media Player" which is an old version. You probably need at least WMP 7. If you have Windows Update, you can update that.

Yeah, I have WMP 10, and it still doesn't work. Either they're bad links, or probably the files themselves are corrupt. :/

asx files are normally automatically opened by Windows Media Player. If it doesn't then you can just look at the files in a simple text editor since they are usual XML files telling WMP where the wma/wmv stream is located on the server. The samples play fine for me for that matter.

Hello :)

>Karizuma
I don't know which browser you are using, I had a problem with FireFox to listen to their samples (Team's ) I tried opening the mp3 files with IE, then it worked with mp3 players.

As for the samples of the arrange album at Team, I can't say that these samples are good, I mean, the samples are ok, but they are all from the vocal songs which we can't actually listen to Mr. Iwadare's piece. I personally loved his Piano arrange tracks from the arrange album. Well, Japanese people tend to perfer vocal tracks, so their samples are far from what I felt to this great album.
If I create any mp3 samples, I have to get permission from the publisher, so it might take time to put for public use...
Did you email me btw? (I received a request for this sample. )

Firefox does not automatically launch Windows Media Player, which is a Microsoft product. IE will work, but Firefox will require configuration. TEAM's samples are in .ASX, not .MP3

Ahh, I'm using IE and it won't work, that is, it won't open WMP, and if it does, it gives me an error message.

I'm going to try Firefox, and see what happens.
