Rockman is one of my all time favorites and it has some of the best BGM pieces ever (anyone agree?).

as some of you might know, the composer names of the classic Rockman 1-6 are very strange (i don't think they are even real names). And i've never seen those names other than from mega man.

Does anyone have any idea who they are? Or what other works they've done? And if anyone got the Rockman 1-6 OST set from CocoeBiz (which i haven't bought yet), was there any info in the booklet?

just by listening, i thought Rockman 1-6 were composed by the same person but they were composed by different composers. by the way, Bunbun (for RM 3 & 4) sounds like one of the best composers to me.

YES!! Finally someone who agrees that Rockman 3 has a better soundtrack than Rockman 2!!! ...Um, I'm not putting words in your mouth, am I? Sorry, I'm often very outspoken that RM3 is the best Rockman soundtrack (at least among the NES/Famicom games) and almost everyone I talk to tries to argue that RM2 is the best, when I think 3 is the best followed by 4, 5, then 2...
Um, right. Anyway...
I do own the Rockman 1-6 OST, and I highly recommend it. Unfortunately, 99.9% of the booklet is in Japanese, and I only speak English. The Rockman X1-6 OST at least has all of the composers listed (in English) in its booklet, but I don't even see a composer list in Japanese on the Famicom RM1-6 booklet. We need someone to translate the booklet into English and see if it reveals any information.
I've wondered about these mysterious composers, too, and have done some research (primarily Google searching) and have been unsuccessful. Chudah's Corner lists all of the composers (http://www.chudahs-corner.com/soundtracks/cpca1064.html) but these are all the nicknames stated in the games' credits. The only conjecture I might have is "Yuko," the composer to RM6 - one of the composers listed for RMX1 is "Yuko Takehara." I cannot prove that these are the same person, but I suppose it is a possibility. Sorry to be of little help, but I'll warn you that the RM1-6 booklet definetly won't tell you the composers if you can't read Japanese, and if you can read Japanese it only might reveal them as nowhere have I found "Composer" followed by Japanese text.

The real name of "Chanchacobin Manami", credited for composing the music for Mega Man (and possibly some of Mega Man 2) is Manami Matsumae. If I'm not mistaken, the Rockman 1-6 set booklet includes a short interview with her.

While I don't have a clue as to the "true" identity of Bun Bun, he was a member of Capcom's band Alfh Lyra at one time. An image of Alfh Lyra including Bun Bun can be found in the liner notes for the Game Music Festival '92 (http://www.gamemusicimages.com/pccb99.html) album. I'm not sure where Bun Bun is in the photo, but front and center is Yoko Shimomura.
