Hello everyone, :D
We would like to ask your opinion about the Dragonball Z 1 and 2 that were released on the PlayStation 2 platform.
If the original soundtrack of these titles are released, are you interested in purchasing it?
Also, which do you want to purchase A or B?
For future plans, we would like to hear your opinions or suggestions about the Dragonball Z game music album.

We are looking forward to hearing from you all!

Hello everyone, :D
If the original soundtrack of these titles are released, are you interested in purchasing it?
As of right now, no, I am not interested in purchasing these. However, this decision is based on the fact that I do not like Dragon Ball Z and I do not like Atari/Infogrames. My interest in purchasing these albums could be sparked if I were told that the music from these games was composed by a composer that I am interested in. So, does anyone know who composed these games?

I love DBZ music, so you get a big "YES" from me. I'd rather have choice B.
I've never played the PS2 DBZ games, but my guess is that the music is better than average.

I know personaly I won't be interested, but some of my friends might. I like the music of both games, but not enough to buy.

I would definitely buy the soundtrack! The music in both DBZB 1 & 2 ROCKED! I can't wait until the soundtrack comes out. I like the International version, but as long as a DBZB soundtrack comes out, either version is OK. As you can tell, I'm pretty psyched about this soundtrack. I hope it comes out.

I see this is listed on amazon japan, does that mean it's going to have a widespread release? Or is cocoebiz going to carry a special one with the english liner notes and stuff?

I think that the soundtracks for the legacy of goku series would be a godsent since they are even better that the musics in the two ps2 games.
however some of the musics were really good so i think i'm going to take it.
Actually the first works of Kenji Yamamoto were really good and maybe better that what he does now. Listen to the superbutoden2 arrange soundtrack to see what i mean...

Super Metroid and Metroid Prime.

Are you sure that this is the same composer as Metroid? I know the name is the same, but I seriously doubt Nintendo would allow him to compose music for another company (and for PS2 games). After a quick search on GMR, it seems a Kenji Yamamoto did the music for some older Dragon Ball games, but nothing else.

Check the Metroid Prime/Metroid Fusion OST info on cocoebiz, it says Kenji Yamamoto.
How could it be another composer with the same very name? O_o
Yoko Shimomura did a lot of music for Squaresoft (now Square Enix) on PS and PS2, but Nintendo gave her a contract to make Mario & luigi Superstar Saga music anyway, so how could you say Nintendo be so possessive with music composers?

Both Kenji and Yamamoto and very common names, so it could be somebody else, though I have no idea. Also, your comparison with Shimomura is off because she is neither a Nintendo nor Squenix composer. She was freelance when she did Mario & Luigi and, as far as I know, still is.

My point was that Nintendo doesn't necessairly have exclusive music composer (in opposite of petev21's thought)

Kenji's work in the DBZ series is different from what he did in Super Metroid. For one, the DBZ music is better. Yes, better than Super Metroid. I avoided the DBZ arrange albums for a long time because I was afraid the music would be ridiculous. However, when I finally got some DBZ albums, I was amazed. Just more proof that the game from which the music comes is totally irrelevant.

Ever heard of John Williams the composer? How about the guitarist? Different guys...
Or on a less well known in one case and more like this level, there was two composers named Franz Schubet. Then of course Johan Strauss Sr., Jr., and III so there's always that angle...

Please teach me, I only heard about one Schubert O_o
I was just saying that 2 guys with the same name, working in the same field (music composition for video games) is a big coincidence.

I did a quick search about Mr. Kenji Yamamoto, and there are 2 composers "Kenji Yamamoto." They are different people.
The sounds of the names are the same, but have different Kanji characters in their first names.
山本健司 -Music composer. Dragonball Z series, Yu-Yu-Hakusho (anime) series etc...
山本健誌- Nintendo Sound staff. (Game music composer). Super Metroid, Metroid prime & Fusion, Famicom Wars etc...
On an additional note, there are more "Kenji Yamamoto" in Japanese music industry, but I can only think of these 2 Kenji Yamamoto-s that are involved in game music.
I hope this information helps.
Thank you for all who took the survey (poll) and giving us your opinions, all comments will be considered for the future release. I think the Amazon news was "Flying info" since the publisher hasn't announced the release officially.
We can't say what's going on about the international version, but we might be able to bring good news hopefully.
Thank you very much for your attention, we really appreciate your time and everything.
