I was lucky eneough to snag a copy of the Digicube release of the Xenosaga episode I OST a few months ago, BUT, I know that the re-release has some additional tracks (live recordings of Warmth, Beach of Nothingness, Green Sleeves, and a piano version of Pain as well as a brand new track entitled World to be Born).
I was wondering if anyone has picked up a copy and could tell me, in their own opinion, if the additional tracks and brand new song warrant spending the cash and buying the OST again.
Thanks!
Hi,
I did a mini-review here: http://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?act=ST&f=31&t=45081&st=0#entry914159
I love the two new tracks but was unimpressed by the piano rerecordings. If you're a big Mitsuda fan it's worth getting it.

I thought the recording quality was rather poor. Some tracks have a lot more feedback than they should.

I want to get it, but it's sold out. Does anybody have any idea when they'll restock it?

As far as i knew,
the synths on the SB rerelease are higher quality sounding (esp horns)
the piano recordings just seemed... slower... to me :P and it sounds like they were recorded on a digital piano (even if they're played live.. it sounds sorta fake)
new string quartet recordings were nice, and additional "World to be Born" is pretty :)

"World to Be Born" is a good piece, but I liked the original recording of "Shore of Nothingess" better. I got the Sleigh-Bells print, and I'm probably going to get the Digicube reprint if I can.
