I never thought I'd talk about this guy, as I was never a fan of his Dewprism tracks nor his pieces in Final Fantasy X.... However, Another Mind caught my attention. I can't really put my finger on it, but the music found in Another Mind is awe-inspiring. Even highly ambient themes like "Ripples on Mind" and "An Endless Chase" still please my ears even though I've listened to this OST at least more than 100 times ! It's the perfect companion when doing homework or relaxing.
Anyways, now is a question that only Ms. Ezaki could answer : Do you have any idea what Mr. Nakano has been doing these past two years ?
He hasn't done anything since FFX, which was in 2001. And seeing that ALL the other composers working at Square-Enix has done a project or two... I'm really wondering if Mr. Nakano was either fired or has he quit the company ? :(

I think he is laying low for awhile. I think he is too good of a composer to be fired. You never know, he might be working on just a Japanese game title. And I liked the Dewprism OST alot! It was a good soundtrack. Hey, even though this a wild guess, maybe he worked on the Drakengard soundtrack. A far fetch? Probably, but it could happen!

Drakengard was composed by Takayuki Aihara and Nobuyoshi Sano.

Oh...thanks alot. You have a good knowledge of game music. I thank you for help. It's really nice to associate with someone who enjoys the same thing I do!

This is weird. I thought Junya Nakano left Square Enix, since his last work was Final Fantasy X (feel/Go dream in 2001) ! What's more, I've found out that he composed the soundtrack of the plane simulation game "Sidewinder F" on PlayStation 2. Do you know more about it, Mrs. Ezaki ? What were his recent works at Square Enix ? Is he freelance ?
Here is the webpage where I found this information : http://ng-stg.hp.infoseek.co.jp/gm/name/na.html
I don't know if I can trust it, but the site seems exhaustive.

Hi KujaFFman,
Mr. Nakano has been contracted to Square/ENIX since he started his career. We talked few a days ago and he confirmed that he is still at Square/ENIX and has been very busy with projects, but I cannot say anything about it. I don't know if he did any other works for other companies or not, sorry!
Thanks,
CocoeBiz :)

This is just great !! :D I was really wondering what Mr Nakano was doing these days. I thought he left Square, it's a relief to see that no ! I hope he is involved in the last projects of Square Enix, unveiled at the Tokyo Game Show.
Thank you very much !

Mr. Nakano's compositions were definitely so of my most favorite out of the entire Final Fantasy X soundtrack.
This has inspired my interest in his other works, but I see many of them are already out-of-print!
What are the chances of a re-print of his Dew Prism soundtrack?

Speaking of which, an official soundtrack release hasn't even been given for Musashi Samurai Legend. And the game is already out here in the U.S.! Are they ever going to release a soundtrack for it?

We need to wait for the Japanese release (probably in may) to have a soundtrack. By the way, Takayuki Iwai and Yuki Iwai are also part of the sound staff.
